Porcelain and ceramic veneers

Porcelain and ceramic veneers are a minimally invasive solution to enhance the appearance of a smile while preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible. These thin ceramic shells are fully custom-made and bonded to the front surface of the teeth to correct imperfections such as discoloration, minor misalignments, chips, or irregular shapes.
Designed to integrate seamlessly with the natural dentition, veneers can provide a highly aesthetic and durable result. Each treatment is individually tailored and handcrafted to create a harmonious, natural-looking smile in balance with the face, lips, and overall personality.
We are proud to collaborate closely with some of the most talented dental technicians and ceramists in Switzerland, who are also internationally recognised.

Common questions about Porcelain and ceramic veneers
01
Do veneers require drilling?
Not always. In many situations, veneers can be carried out with minimal preparation, and in selected cases with no tooth preparation at all (non-prep veneers). This reflects the minimally invasive philosophy promoted at the University of Geneva, with particular emphasis on preserving enamel and maintaining as much natural tooth structure as possible whenever the clinical situation allows.
02
Are veneers suitable for every patient?
No. Veneers are an excellent option in selected cases, but they are not appropriate for every single situation. A detailed consultation is necessary to determine whether veneers, orthodontics, whitening, composite bonding, or another approach would be the most suitable solution.
03
Can veneers correct all aesthetic concerns?
Veneers can address many aesthetic concerns, including colour, shape, minor asymmetries, and certain forms of wear. In more complex situations, however, a more comprehensive treatment plan may be required to achieve the most predictable and conservative result.
04
How long do veneers last?
Well-indicated and well-maintained ceramic veneers can remain stable for many years. Their longevity depends on several factors, including the quality of execution, oral hygiene, tooth and bite conditions, parafunctional habits, and regular follow-up.
05
Why choose a specialist in reconstructive dentistry for veneer treatment?
Veneer treatment requires a precise balance between aesthetics, function, and preservation of the natural tooth structure.
A Swiss specialist in reconstructive dentistry has advanced training in diagnosis, treatment planning, material selection, and the precise execution of complex restorative treatments. This expertise is particularly important to achieve a natural aesthetic result while ensuring functional integration and long-term stability.
The Swiss Society for Reconstructive Dentistry provides an official list of certified specialists by canton.
